This blank central medallion carpet is a rare example of Aqcha rugs and carpets. This is made in Northern Afghanistan, where the
Silk Road passes through the Cenral Asian States and China in north east. We can see the Chinese impressions in this pattern, like Tibetian carpets most of its central area is empty. Normally these carpets are used when there is a tribal meeting or gathering. Aqcha carpets are well known for its durability like Khal Mohammadi carpets.
