Description
Meshadi Kilims are know for their distinctive horizontal stripe designs that has Soumak embroidery on it. The flat weave pile is made with plain weaving technique and finished with diagonal pattern embroidery on it.
Most kilims are found in narrow long sizes, because the village houses in Meshad tribes have narrow looms in their living rooms or workshops.
Weaving in this technique can only be successfully done in narrow scripts in order to avoid problems with increased tension on the knots.
