Description
This kilim is one of the finest flat weaved kilims we can find from the Afghani and Pakistani border. Chobis are named after the person, who redefined rugs and kilim weaving in Afghanistan. These kilims are appreciated for their strength and colorful diagonal motifs. This new generation of Kilims is made with very limited colors, which is why they more prevalent in modern living styles.
This kilim is made with closing slit weave technique, that uses the weft threads wrapped around the counted warp threads. This make the kilim usable on both sides.
Being used by the weaver’s family. This was given the weaver as a gesture of gratitude. Representing real sentimental value to their family, age is between 40-50 years.
